Is henry doing the new Russo brothers movie or is it Jablonsky? i really miss when henry was busy i know he slowed down when he had a kid but i do miss him being busy

You’re telling me you listened to Skycraper, Bloodshot, Red Notice, deep water horizon and thought man hes so good still and def better than Jackman? you thought those movies he was better than Jackman? wild take but i respect it

Have more interesting concepts than Jackman, yes, Red Notice is a far better score than Grey Man (which have a cool theme and ideas) and Bloodshot still have those Jablonsky-esque thematics have and far better rhythms.

Deepwater Horizon still a really cool score, and works really well in the movie, in fact, Skyscraper have better stuff in there than Man of the Ledge. In Jackman’s defense, First Class is still his best work, with a strong themes and ideas and some of The Winter Soldier are really engaging moments in there.

I gotta say, Jablonsky or (his agent) has a strange choice of movies to work on…

Saying Jackman’s work is superior to Jab’s is a statement I definitely can’t agree. The only album that I like from Jackman is Extraction, just because the main theme is “Time” re-done all over again, he actually really likes ripping “Time” in his scores. But Steve’s Gears of War 2-3, The Last Knight (or any other TF score), Dragon War or even the theme for Prince of Persia are on the best scores I have ever heard in my 16 years of listening to film/game music. But that’s just my opinion, so who cares who likes what, at least you are having a good time listening to these two composers work

Yeah all those soundtracks you mentioned are all when steve was at the top of his game. now he’s super bland again just my opinion. also extraction is one of Henry weaker score idk how you even enjoy but i guess film music can be very subjective so i can’t hate i just dont get it. I used to love steve but his music has been horrible again just my opinion

Have you listened to “The Tigers Apprentice”? Tom´s theme is pretty epic, reminds me of old Steve very much

I do like both Steve and Henry, of course music is completely subjective so we’re all going to have different opinions on their music and who’s we like more, the only point I was trying to make was that, on paper, Henry is the far more well trained and educated composer. Now does that translate to him writing music that you’ll like more? Of course not, because music is subjective and we all like what we like for different reasons, but Henry definitely has more “skill” and that’s something I don’t think can be debated because he just objectively has more knowledge about music.

Now personally, I like Henry more, I think his score for The Winter Soldier is a masterpiece and is BY FAR the best score in the MCU (yes, even better than Black Panther, and you all know I’m a Ludwig fanboy), I absolutely love Man on a Ledge, GI Joe is great, Extraction is great, Henry hasn’t done anything that I haven’t liked. Oh, and let’s not forget, he did work on the greatest score/movie of all time… The Dark Knight!!!

I know Jackman have been educated in music, yes, that’s also dosen’t mean he have some turds (G.I. Joe makes The Winter Soldier a masterpiece in comparison), also The Predator was a lot of fun score (he is a big Silvestri fan and show it in that score and in the two Jumanji scores), Jablonsky is more rhythmically speaking more engaging (hot take: pretty deep in Battleship/GoW: Judgment back in the day), yeah have some stuff i wasn’t a big fan to be honest, like Gangster Squad, for example.

I have to bring up Ender’s Game and Pain and Gain, very underrated stuff from him.

Woah woah woah are we just gonna not mention Henry incredible work on Uncharted4?! lol it’s honestly a masterpiece

Is a great score, very emotional and certainly very strong in his use of themes. Very close to what Edmonson make in the three prior scores.
