Stephane, I want to address controversy:
Suite – Absurdity Suite on Prpject Details is 4:03, but on Album this track is 4:58

But how it could be if: “Absurdity : Absurdity Suite”?

Also Train Chase Pt 1 on Album is slightly different, so maybe should be an ALT? Movie version is mix between both…

It’s called a temp track. It doesn’t mean the composer had a hand in the Hans piece. MI Fallout, “The Exchange,” also copies from Gotham’s Reckoning aka Bane suite. Lorne ripping off Hans by adhering too closely to temp is nothing new.

This one is a bit of a masterpiece that does not get the recognition it deserves. The Zanelli led Tell Overture is some of the best work to ever come from MV or RCP. Need this type of experimentation from HZ, instead of the non-sense attempts to sound like a sound designer – dude, you compose melodies for film, leave the sound designing to the Ben Burttities of this world

    Hybrid
Out there should be an ALT for Train Chase Part 1
    (Album version is different)

    Or I mistaken?

Known credits are Runaway Train for Mazzaro (was on his website), for Andrew K : The Rangers, Cannibal, Dead Rangers & Finish Him (on his Soundcloud). Geoff is the only guy with Ann Marie Simpson that got the privilege of cuesheet credit.

Battle of Aughrim arrangement (so everything lifted from "Silver") is Hans & Ann Marie.

Geoff did a good part of the score, every other classical pieces arrangements are his (so, everywhere the William Tell Overture appears). Train Chase, the End Credits, This Is A Robbery.

The stuff that sounds more or less like Sherlock have definitely Lorne. And I suspect a bit more epic drama have RGW.

I’m pretty sure we can add Lorne Balfe credit on Runaway Train cue… The whole last section is almost beat by beat reprised in Pulpit Rock Fight in MI-Fallout

Also Leaving Red’s is something out of Sherlock score too, so one can throw Lorne’s name here

Put this in the wrong thread lol…. It’s called a temp track. It doesn’t mean the composer had a hand in the Hans piece. MI Fallout, “The Exchange,” also copies from Gotham’s Reckoning aka Bane suite. Lorne ripping off Hans by adhering too closely to temp is nothing new.

The exchange isn’t exactly ripping Hans, because Lorne worked closely on those scores, maybe even did all this programming… Also, Lorne does “ripping Bane’s theme” as part of his “style”, so no big deal at this point, I guess…

I said about Runaway Train being Balfe’s work because it has a lot of Balfe’s ID..

Look at any known credits in HZ/LB work from Dark Knight to this movie… Hans does themes and important cues, Lorne always writes action scenes, and always in this bombastic way…

Probably Lorne never contributed to “Finale” aka “Train Chase”, I am seeing less and less his “fingerprints” in this

“Gang Boards – Cavendish Escape” kinda sonds Balfe to me too…

    • Anonymous April 9, 2025 at 10:36 am - Reply

Yeah but you also have to consider the fact that this is the point in time which Steve Mazzaro was more involved than Lorn. Steve probably worked on more cues than you may think. I also think a lot people are just undermining Zimmers own distinctive voice especially when making the Sherlock scores connections.

      Probably)
But still, when it’s Mazarro, I can tell it’s Mazarro
Late HZ/SM scores sound more different than HZ/LB
